Okay, the special effects we’re awesome. But I’m calling Michael Bay and co. out by name–the film contained some seriously racist and sexist overtones. They weren’t even overtones. It was more like the melody, and the poor Transformers were just along for the ride. Read my full review here.

I happen to think that there’s a traditional, Irish connection with vampires and their appeal–in more than one way. Aside from the fact that Bram Stoker was pretty much a genius (and of course Irish), ever realize that most vampire legends eventually lead back to Ireland in some way? It’s freaky and true.
