Here’s a question to other freelance writers out there–ever accept a lower-paying assignment simply because it’s something that might be fun? I have a constant debate with myself over this due to writing at Demand. Should I pursue a $5 topic that I suggested myself, or write on a boring topic which pays $15?
For me, the answer is a compromise. For every four or five $15 article I write, I take a break and write a fun $5 topic. If I don’t write at least one fun thing each day, I forget why I started doing this in the first place: I love to write. Today is low paying, but the assignment is easy and I like my topic.
